As the contributor of The ALB Hong Kong IPO Handbook 2021 published by Asian Legal Business

Our Managing Director, Mr. Vincent Pang was pleased to be invited by the Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association (HKiNEDA) to co-host the webinar “Valuation Issues in times of COVID-19: What you need to know” with Ms. Shelly So, Partner, Accounting Consulting Services of PwC HK.
 
The speakers introduced the impact of COVID-19 on the business performance of companies, capital market and the operation of investment activities globally and shared insights on how should executives tackle valuation issues during the pandemic in relation to the following three aspects: impairment assessment of non-financial assets, expected credit loss of financial assets and valuation of equity investment, with reference to the related accounting standards and financial reporting standards.
 
Also, key highlights of the HKEx enquiries in 2020 were covered to emphasize the importance of sufficient and transparent disclosures on impacts caused by COVID-19.
