Stay Green for this Chinese New Year

Leaping into the Year of the Rabbit, AVISTA wishes you a successful and prosperous Lunar New Year! While red is considered as an auspicious and celebratory shade in our tradition, the colour green symbolizes wealth, growth and sustainability. Why don’t we also embrace green during this festive occasion to add to fortunate and lucky blessing vibes?  Here are some #LittleGreentips on how to celebrate our Lunar New Year in style: 

• Donate and recycle used red packets. Greeners Action, an environmental organization in Hong Kong, has been organising the annual Lai See Reuse and Recycle Programme for over a decade and providing a number of used red packets collection points throughout Hong Kong. 
• Consider using red packets without the year’s zodiac animals that could be reused in the next year
• Give digital red packets instead of physical red envelopes to reduce waste at source
• Order suitable quantity of food when dining out
